Select*: The First Week Experience in a GIF
The first week of classes is both intimidating and exciting. You’re taken out of your daily routine during the break and thrust into a new school year. Some people are disoriented by the change while others welcome it with open arms. Whether you’re the former or the latter, this semester, it’s time to meet new teachers, attend new classes, shake hands with new classmates, and catch up with old friends.
Each of us experiences the first week of the semester differently. Below are some of these experiences described in a GIF:
“This was my best first day of any sem so far. Got to meet my friends again, see my new awesome profs, and get back into the org-socials-acads business. And if Chuck approves, I approve of this day as well! XD”
Railey Montalan
2 BS Computer Science
“Clingy sa block. Clingy sa freshies. Clingy sa org. Clingy sa co-TnTs. Clingy sa SecMobs. Clingy sa Faura.”

“Kasi nakakaoverwhelm pala at ngayon lang nag-sink-in na ‘senior na talaga ako’ “
Abby Estanislao
4 BS Management Information Systems
“Well, my day was going relatively well; other than the fact that I had to wake up early, and I would get home pretty late, I was good. And then Physics class happened…”
Carlo Natividad

“Because it feels so magical but I know there [are] so [many] underlying mishaps going on. But who cares? The show must go on.”
Pearl Santos
3 BS Computer Science
“I’m so so tired dahil sa org. All [those] buwan ng wika activities”
Richmond Sim
3 BS Computer Engineering
“Time to make new friends!”
Paolo Gabriel
3 BS Information Technology Entrepreneurship
“Because of the decrease [in] parking slots, it’s really difficult to get a parking slot. L I have to get to school by 8 AM to get a slot even if my first class is at 11:30.”
Carlo Luis De Guzman
4 BS Computer Science
Some are enthusiastic for more school days while some are already dreading the future ordeals of said days. I bet the latter are excited for the long weekends to come.
What about you? How was your first week experience?

Correction: An earlier version of this article stated that Paulo Gabriel is 3 BS Economics, but he is actually a 3rd Year Information Technology Entrepreneurship major.
