Return to the Digiworld

“After 15 years, from the summer vacation…

If we didn’t go to the Digiworld, if I didn’t make this trip with you guys, if we didn’t change like this…

These Digimon were always with us…

We’ve been friends all this time…

We learnt the importance of helping each other…

All those things have made us who we are.

Many heads  turned back to the past when the sound that they have not heard for almost 16 years finally resonated through the different social media networks.

The sound of the Digivice echoes, and together with its return is the news of one of the most nostalgic series that taught the younger version of our generation the true value of friendship, camaraderie, and adventure.

Remember these guys? They were part of my after school TV escapades back in grade school!

Agumondigivolve too…!

A lot has happened since this show’s first season, “Digimon Adventures”, first aired in 1999 in Japanese television, and less than a year later, in other TV sets around the globe. After the successful completion of its first 54 episodes by the 26th March of the year 2000, the anime has gone on to spawn 7  sequel series and 9 movies. Not to mention the different toys, games, manga (Japanese comics), and other merchandise released under the same franchise. As the years go by, more and more fans, old and new, are attracted to this fantastic world of digital monsters fighting alongside their human partners, going on this grand adventure greater than themselves, all while learning different important lessons along the way.

The story revolves around the different sets of “Chosen Children” or the “Digidestined” who are sent to this parallel world called the “Digital World”, commonly known as the Digiworld—originating from the Earth’s various communication networks. Each  of these children are partnered up with digital creatures called “Digimon” (short for Digital Monsters), which they are to raise (through the process called “Digivolution”, short for digital evolution) and fight alongside with as they go against evil Digimons and even human beings in order to protect both the Digiworld and the human world.

Agumondigivolve too…!

Fans of the first season are the most hyped, as Toei, one of Digimon’s producers, reveals that this new installment, entitled “Digimon Adventures Tri”, stars the original eight Digidestined/Chosen Children, now all grown-up and most even in their high school years. According to AnimeNewsNetowrk.com, “AtsuyaUki (Cencoroll) will do the character designs, YuukoKakihara (Heaven’s Lost Property) will act as series script supervisor, and KeitaroMotonaga (Rayearth) will direct.”

All the other information regarding the said installment are and will be provided in the Digimon’s Fifteenth Anniversary project’s website, and can be accessed by letting the users click on one of the “DigiEggs” found on the bottom part of the screen once every day.

Only three eggs have hatched as of this writing.

As of this January, there have been three DigiEggs that have hatched, and, as promised, further information regarding the said show. So far, what have been revealed to the public were the first official art designsshowing the original chosen eight in their new styles and school uniforms, and also the first official character profile card, which re-introducesTaichiYagami (the main protagonist), and his Digimon partner Agumon.

Right now, there is still no fixed date regarding the showing of its first episode, but there have been some speculations that it will be somewhere in April 2015. Despite that, the hype has not yet died, not even after half a year after the announcement of its return. Fans everywhere are re-reading, re-watching, and even re-playing as they try to recapture the moments of their childhood when they have joined Taichi, Sora, Yamato, Jyou, Mimi, Koushiro, Takeru, and Hikari together with their respective partner Digimons, traverse the exciting yet fearsome world known as the Digimon World.
